WETSANDS

The Wetsands are lightweight durable beach sandals made of vacuum formed closed-cell foam. They are the seamless fusion of process, material explorations and everyday life. They're the result of the continuation of the experimentation with industrial packaging material scraps initiated with the WETBOOT.
The fabrication process is simplified and the materials used for the upper are considerably reduced. With this technique, the soft upper is structured by layering foam parts and by forming reliefs and textures which help maintain the open-toed sneakers' shape. The resulting typology can be likened to a soft shell or casing, a nod to the original field of application of the material. The polyurethane sole offers a flexible firm grip.
Throughout the design process, careful attention was put into creating a common design language for the Wetsands and the Wetboot. They are variations on similar footwear constructions and they express the same vision of lightness, comfort and an exuberant fashion taste.
